Hello and welcome to this week’s TipTuesday! Today’s tip is very simple, but it has made so much difference in the way my skin looks that I just can’t not share it.
We all know that changing the pillowcase regularly is a must – pillowcases collect all kinds of dirt that can potentially irritate the skin. But what about hair?
Hair usually collects a lot of dirt too, but, unlike our face and body, it isn’t cleaned as often. It’s not only dust that makes hair a breakout risk factor. Hair products are usually formulated with a lot of ingredients that are bad for the skin – fragrance, various kinds of oils, silicones, and chemical additives. Even regular shampoo contains quite a lot of fragrance that is strong enough to linger on the hair for a while.
If you sleep with your hair down, it can cause irritation and breakouts on the cheeks, forehead, back, and chest over time, so the solution I use it braiding the hair into a loose braid for the night or making a loose bun. It keeps the hair from tangling too, which is a major plus for me 😊

I wish this tip would be discussed more! I actually discovered that hair can cause breakouts when I was researching the causes of irritation on cheeks, and then finally came across an article about it. My first thought was ‘why didn’t I think about this before?!’ It truly makes so much sense!
