Last Minute Gift Ideas for Mother’s Day!

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas! 7 creative Mother’s Day last minute gift ideas 😊

Mother’s Day is just around the corner! This year hasn’t started on a nice note and there’s a lot of turmoil we’re all currently dealing with. Mother’s Day is a perfect opportunity to make this special day amazing for our mothers, so let’s use it!

In many countries worldwide we still have lockdowns and quarantine in action, so I thought about gifts that would be easy to get in this situation:

1. A dessert you’ve made yourself. There’s something especially delightful about receiving homemade desserts as gifts. And they are a lot of fun to make, too! You can make a box of simple cookies and add a handwritten card – that’s all it takes. Or, if you’re feeling fancy, you can make a whole cake or cupcakes with frosting and decorations – all depends on what you feel like making. Can’t think of a nicer, more heartwarming gift!

My favorite cookie recipes:

Soft and chewy white chocolate cookies that taste like white chocolate!
Quick and easy oatmeal cookies with lemon glaze

2.Handmade chocolates. Okay, this kind of goes into the ‘dessert’ category, but they deserve a spotlight of their own! I’ve recently made chocolate truffles at home following this very simple 2 ingredient recipe and they turned out very tasty. I think it’s pretty easy to add nuts to them or roll them in crushed waffles – would be awesome! I often make candy from dried fruits, nuts, and honey like in this recipe, but I don’t use ghee – I add honey instead to ‘glue’ the candies together.

3.E-book or a book. If your mom likes to read, gifting her an e-book or a book can be a great idea! I’m currently planning on giving my mom a book about sewing (that’s her hobby) and after that – a beauty book, since I’ve been enjoying them a lot lately.

4.Delivery food. This is one of my favorite gift ideas because not only you’ll save your mom the precious time in the kitchen, but you’ll support local businesses.

5.Something for her hobby. Be it gardening, crocheting, or yoga, you can always find something she doesn’t have yet that is connected to that hobby. I think a sewing basket is one of the greatest gifts ever for someone who’s into sewing, knitting, etc, because it helps neatly organize everything.

6.A set of beauty tools. Makeup is a very personal thing, so I can’t safely suggest getting someone a foundation or eyeshadow pallete – you might get the color or texture wrong. However, everyone who enjoys makeup would enjoy a kit of brushes, a set of new makeup sponges, or a makeup sponge cleaner.

7.Slippers and loungewear. This is one of the coziest and most thoughtful gifts, especially now when we spend so much time at home. A nice soft pajamas or cute slippers would make an amazing gift for anyone.

I know I’m sooo late with this post this year, but still I want to share these ideas – what if someone is same late with gifts this year as I am?

Hopefully you’ve found this post helpful and, as always, thank you so much for reading ❤️

Have an amazing day or night ahead!

  1. All beautiful ideas Alex….I’m just curious….what did you get this year?
If I were to guess I’d say you went with option number 1 and made one of your lovely desserts 🙂 🙂 🙂

Take care and have a lovely week 🙏🌈

    1. I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed it! This year didn’t go as planned at all and I couldn’t visit my mom on Mother’s Day to give her my presents (we are now hundreds of kilometers away from each other), which I prepared around a month ago – fall suede boots. Can’t wait to give them to her! And another gift is a sewing kit – she likes sewing very much and just bought a new sewing machine 😊 Pity that transport limitations didn’t let me get the gifts in time for her, so I congratulated her first thing in the morning yesterday and now she’s up for a big surprise very soon!
My grandmother is the one who always receives desserts from me and I love making desserts as gifts, so you actually got it almost right!
Do you celebrate Mother’s Day? In my family, we mostly focus on birthdays and also make presents sometimes whenever we feel like it – there’s a nice element of surprise to it 😊
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment ❤️ Take care as well and have a blessed week 💕
