Hello and welcome to #TipTuesday! Every Tuesday I’m publishing a very short yet informative post about skin care, hair care, lifestyle, and beauty! Make sure you follow my blog so that you don’t miss out!
Today’s technique is about a quick and easy way of making the shampoo more gentle on the scalp and hair in seconds!
I came up with this tip when I was struggling with dry scalp problem. I’ve tried many shampoos without SLS, but they didn’t work for me at all. Many shampoos are very gentle, but they don’t d oa good job cleaning the hair and scalp. I started applying shampoo only once while washing and using as little as I could, but still shampoo left my scalp and hair a bit dry.
Here’s my tip: add 8-10 drops of pure almond or jojoba oil to the shampoo you’ll use. I usually pour shampoo in my palm and then add the oil there and stir it with my finger in the palm of my hand, but you can prepare it beforehand – pour as much shampoo as you’ll need into a mixing cup and then add the oil. Depending on how potent your shampoo is, you may need a bit more or less, but this technique has made a huge difference for me! Due to this simple trick I was able to stop using conditioner and my hair got much healthier.
Also, to soothe the scalp I add 2-3 drops of lavender (sometimes rosemary) essential oil to the shampoo – it helps soothe the skin and my hair smells beautifully after washing.
Oils can sometimes trigger allergic reactions, so make sure to make a patch test before using any oils to ensure that they are safe for you!
I hope you enjoyed this week’s #TipTuesday!
See you in my next post,
Alex
