Hello and welcome π It’s been 4 months and 4 days since I’ve published my first post on this blog and I think it’s a perfect opportunity for me to make a post like this to let you get to know me a bit more. These are things I’d talk about to a friend about over a cup of coffee. So here we go – 5 very random facts about me!
1.If I’d have to choose one singer to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be Amy Lee from Evanecence. The only voice that I LOVE same much is the voice of Freddie Mercury.
2.I’m always amused when I see women not using their high heels in action and thriller movies as a weapon for self-defense – those things are potentially deadly!
3.I cried my eyes out when I watched Logan (2017) in cinema.
4.I’d never buy a designer bag. Not because they are expensive or not worth it or I don’t like them – not at all. I think the design and craftsmanship are often superb. This is simply because I want my things to be as original as possible and designer bags are made for different purpose than uniqueness (I don’t take customization into account here). It gives me great thrill and satisfaction to hunt for unique pieces and find them.
5.I read very fast. It takes me around 4-5h to read a 300 page book – this is something like The Witcher books written in relatively simple language, with pretty straightforward plot. Of course, books that require a lot of analysis, such as Fyodor Dostoyevsky or Jane Austen, I like to take my time. I’ve read ‘Pride and Prejudice’ in around 7-8h – the book fascinated me so much that I read it in one day because I just couldn’t put it down. Same with Wilkie Collins’ novel ‘The Woman In White’ and ‘The Moonstone’ – these books seem huge, but they are so captivating that it took me few days to read each of them.
Hope you enjoyed this up close and personal post on a Saturday! Have an awesome time of the day wherever you are and thank you so much for reading π
See you in my next post,
Alex

Wow! You’re indeed a fast reader! I wish it was my case. I have always been a slow reader.

I’m flattered π If you’re a slow reader, you get to enjoy great books for longer than I do! And the worst thing is that if I really enjoy a book, I just can’t slow down π

Thank you for your comment β€οΈ Then spoiler for you: the books are awesome! The character of Renfri is so much deeper, for instance – that’s from the first book. Netflix did the bare minimum, in my opinion, with the source material, so if you liked the show then you’ll surely enjoy the books! Have an awesome day ahead and stay safe π

Oh my God you’ve gotten me all excited about it now!! I picked up the book in a store last month but I left it as I wanted to finish my TBR pile first and I wish I’d just grabbed it ππ Thank you, you too! π

I’m a huge fan of the games – they’ve done justice to the source material for sure. Didn’t have too high expectations for the books, but was very pleasantly surprised. I read e-books though. It’s actually cool that you’ll read the books closer to the Witcher season 2 release (some time in 2021) – all the plot and characters will be still fresh in your memory π I hope you’ll get a good translation!
