TipTuesday #2: Ponytail, Half Updo, and Bun Technique

This Tuesday I’m sharing a foolproof method of determining where to put a ponytail or bun to make the hairstyle the most flattering, so let’s start right away!

Human eyes naturally seek for balance. Have you ever noticed that different celebrities have sort of different signature hairstyle when it comes to ponytails and buns? Jennifer Aniston wears her ponytail quite low, while Jennifer Lopez wears hers pretty high. It made me pondering: why so?

The secret is pretty simple: just follow the natural line of your cheekbones! Take a look:

And now not so good vs very good example (by all means, Reese Witherspoon is charming either way, but the second and third hairstyles look much more flattering on her , while the first one is a bit too high):

Of course, only you can decide what looks best on you. This is the simplest way to create a hairstyle that looks great, so give it a try! You can also apply the same technique to half updo hairstyles (this my go-to hairdo, so I use this technique almost every day).
