TipTuesday #1: Fragrance application secret

Hello and welcome to the new series on my blog – #TipTuesday! Every Tuesday I’ll be publishing a very short yet informative post about skin care, hair care, lifestyle, and beauty! Make sure you follow my blog so that you don’t miss out!

As a fragrance junkie I’ve done my fair share of research on how to make fragrance more long-lasting.

Today’s fragrance lifehack: if you want your fragrance to last longer, make sure your skin is very well hydrated!

The best choice would be a lotion from the same line as the fragrance (e.g. Chanel No.5 body lotion or cream for Chanel No.5 fragrance), but of course they are rather expensive, so you can use regular unscented body lotion. I also sometimes use a drop of jojoba or almond oil – they’ve got no scent, are easily absorbed by the skin and don’t leave oily spots.

Apply the lotion before spraying the fragrance on and let it absorb, then spray the fragrance on. Don’t forget that you aren’t supposed to rub the place where you’ve just applied the fragrance – it disturbs the scent, so just let it dry on itself.

If you use oil to moisturize the skin, make sure to rub the oil in very well so that your skin doesn’t feel oily at all before spraying the fragrance on.

Enjoy your favorite fragrance longer!

See you in my next post,

Alex

      2. Believe me, I was really surprised when I discovered this too! Of course, it definitely depends on how long lasting a fragrance is to begin with, weather, etc, but if it’s skin dehydration that’s causing the fragrance to last not as long as it’s supposed to, then there’s a way around it. I’ve discussed this lifehack with fellow fragrance junkies and it really helps, so I hope it’ll work just as well for you too ♥
